Ask yourself this question:
Is Masterclass worth it for me?
To be honest, the problem isn’t the value. $15/month is a steal. In fact, it seems too good to be true. Especially if you enjoy food, music, film, art, photography….maybe not sports (read on). The quality of the classes is the best we’ve seen and the hosts are the best in the world.
This is the most honest masterclass review we can give:
Think about it this way: most private lessons are around $40/hour. That means you only have to use this service for 30 minutes per month and you’re getting an amazing return for your money. You don’t need to rush to get your money’s worth at all.
The videos are filmed with cinematic quality and the audio is perfect. We’ve personally taken Wolfgang Puck’s cooking class and Daniel Negraunau’s poker class and can honestly say it’s like being in a private class with them.
So? What’s the catch?
In my opinion, if you’re trying to develop your creative mind and pick up expert tips there is no catch, they’ve really nailed it on everything.
The only small problem we could find are as follows:
- It feels indulgent and expensive so you feel like you’re splurging and second, guess yourself when you are not using it as much. Don’t do this. It’s well worth it. As mentioned above you only need to commit 30 minutes per month for it to be worth your time. Is Masterclass worth it? Yes.
- Certain niches are not covered well enough yet. There is way more on there in the creative and artistic field (music, film, photography, comedy, food) than there is for sports. So if you’re in this for Sports, its limited compared to everything else.

One of our favorite parts about Masterclass is you can take elements from each class and use it in your own discipline. Here are a few examples.
The Alicia Keys Masterclass is packed with lessons on music and life. She also has super-inspirational philosophies on work and life. We write more about it here.
Within the first 10 minutes of world-renowned chef Wolfgang Pucks class. He carefully discusses the tools of the trade with you. Which is a genius way to start. We often don’t think of the tools of our trades and how big of an impact they have on our process, learning and progress. Good tools make good artists.
How much does Masterclass cost?
$15 per month.
Does Masterclass have a free trial?
No; however, they do have a 30-day money-back guarantee and we’ve tested this, it works great. Since we’re a music blog, we list some great free masterclasses here.
